The Wii U is now available to purchase from Waitrose for £150 for the basic pack and £199 for the premium pack. This puts the basic pack at a slightly cheaper price point than the 3DS XL. Other supermarkets, as well as some electronics stores, may be poised to follow suit.

Iwata-san, Masuda-san and Ishihara-san, the hosts of Nintendo’s second Pokemon Direct broadcast, took some time to shed some light on a couple of new features in Pokemon X and Y.

It's fair to say that the 2DS reveal has garnered mixed reactions. Some love the idea and are especially excited at the potential this has for their children, others see it as ugly and not cheap enough. It isn't often that you hear how video games can positively impact on your life, because that doesn't sell to the anti-everything crowd. Here's a story that's positively heart warming, and one that could and should serve as an inspiration to countless others. Nintendo's Wii Fit has often been used as a joke amongst the hardcore crowd, but the proof is out there that it works, and that it works well.

Although Nintendo had previously confirmed that changes were being made to Wind Waker HD, due for release later this year, there were some people that were still a little cloudy on exact what it was they were talking about. For those of us who played it back in the day, it was pretty obvious what needed to be changed, and in today's Nintendo Direct, they confirmed, without any room for ifs and buts, that the final part of Wind Waker has been "rebalanced" for Wind Waker HD.

The upcoming 3DS title A Link Between Worlds may be set in the same world as A Link to the Past, but it's not set in the same time period. In today's Nintendo Direct, Iwata revealed that a lot of time has past between A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds, and that the Link we've seen in the videos so far isn't the same link from the 1991 Legend of Zelda SNES classic.

The 3DS has been out for over two years now, and has yet to succumb to the wave of piracy that the R4 and similar devices brought to the DS. That, however, is about to change very shortly, as a new 3DS flashcart is about to be released that will allow users to play 3DS roms on their system.
