Lego Dimensions is releasing their own toy to game series in September with the starter pack hitting stores in September, today there were other packs confirmed as well.

While the Lord of the Rings franchise focussed on a small group of people changing the world in a big way, The Hobbit was more about the group (at least up to a point). This isn't something that's been lost on the team behind LEGO The Hobbit either, as they've added new ways for you to work together with your "buddies." Warner Brothers today released a new trailer showcasing these new abilities, and the importance of your group.

Warner Bros. have today announced LEGO The Hobbit, a new LEGO game based in the world of Peter Jackson's latest epic fantasy trilogy. If LEGO Lord of the Rings is anything to go by, there'll be more than enough reference to JRR Tolkien's one-film-max 1937 novel as well.

I'm sure there was a lot of scoffing when they announced the original LEGO Star Wars. Taking a toy license that was based off of a movie license and digitizing it must have seemed like the worst idea in the world, spawning a shoddy mess for children who have no idea what a good game is. Funnily enough, the exact opposite occurred and a gaming phenomenon was born. Now there have been approximately a billion LEGO games since then, all as fun and addictive as the last, and LEGO Lord of the Rings is the latest game in Traveller's Tales quite literal blockbuster series.
