The latest rendition of the long-running GRID racing game series is the first across the finish line during what promises to be a blockbuster year for fans of console racing games. GRID Legends is a solid entry that has more personality than its 2019 predecessor and boasts an interesting story mode to ease players into the game. Some floaty handling and an uncertain online environment are the only things holding GRID Legends back from arcade racing royalty.

The same complaint that a lot of annual sports video game franchises receive is (mostly) true with NASCAR Heat 5. This year’s game feels basically like a roster and car paint update compared to previous versions. The driving model feels a lot better — my cars don’t just spin with the slightest contact, and I’m finding it easier to get involved in drafts and pushes. So just what is TT Isle of Man exactly? You might think oh, this is a bike racing game. You're not wrong, although I found the history behind it to be very interesting. The Isle of Man TT is run in a time-trial format on public roads closed to the public. The event consists of one week of practice sessions followed by one week of racing. It has been a tradition, dating back as far as the 1920s. More importantly...it's now a video game.

It only took a couple minutes for me to fall in love with Cars 3: Driven to Win, and although I can easily say it's no Mario Kart - and really, what cartoon racing game really is - I think it's an equally good alternative for those who perhaps prefer Cars over Mario, or those who do not own a Nintendo Switch. We are looking at the game on both of Nintendo's current platforms for this review: the Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Wii U!

Forza Motorsport 6 was out in North America on September 15, but in Europe we can see the title race onto Xbox One on September 18, and it brings over 450 cars to the racing franchise. Another ten cars are also available in the new Fast & Furious Car Pack, which released in North America to coincide with the Forza 6 release.

Beach Buggy Racing seems to be another attempt at the legendary Super Mario Kart which has a lot of upside but doesn’t live up to the legendary Mario Kart. For several years there have been a lot of publisher games trying to imitate the success but to no avail. All of the previous Kart type games and Beach Buggy Racing are good in their own way and a good alternative to Mario Kart for each of their respective consoles.
