Kevin Austin has been in gaming journalism in one way or another since the launch of the Nintendo Gamecube. Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.

Chasmal Fear Review (PC)

There’s something uniquely terrifying about isolation beneath the sea. The pressure, the darkness, the sense that you’re somewhere you were never meant to be. Chasmal Fear, developed by MystiveDev and published by Wandering Wizard, taps into that primal unease and delivers a survival horror experience that’s as atmospheric as it is ambitious. Built in Unreal Engine 5 and presented through a gritty bodycam perspective, the game invites players into the submerged ...

Dinopunk: The Cacops Adventure Demo Impressions

I spent some time with the PC demo of Dinopunk: The Cacops Adventure and came away with a measured curiosity. The world blends volcanic wastelands with rusted steam machinery and repurposed dinosaur skeletons, creating an atmosphere that’s rugged without feeling overbuilt. Combat plays out in a turn-based rhythm that feels deliberate but not slow. The Hunter’s steam-rifle can bounce shots off armored foes, and the Engineer deploys clockwork turrets that chip ...

In the ever-expanding world of simulation titles, Gas Station Manager stakes its claim in a fairly unexplored corner of roadside capitalism. Developed by Glyde Games and available on Steam, the game invites players to take a humble, neglected fuel stop and turn it into a thriving enterprise. If you’ve ever romanticized the idea of running your own quirky business with just a dash of chaos—this one’s got you covered. From the moment you boot up Gas ...

Inhuman Resources: A Literary Machination Review

There are games that entertain, games that challenge, and then there are games like Inhuman Resources: A Literary Machination—games that unsettle you in the best possible way. This indie narrative experience doesn’t just tell a story; it drags you, willingly or not, into the fluorescent-lit bowels of corporate absurdity and moral compromise. And once you’re in, it doesn’t let go. Set in the cold, bureaucratic halls of the fictional SMYRNACORP, the game casts ...

High school is a strange place. It’s where we first start to figure out who we are, where friendships are forged and broken, and where every decision feels like it could change your life. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Review

When Death Stranding first launched in 2019, it was one of the most polarizing games of its generation. Some called it a walking simulator. Others saw it as a bold re-imagining of what games could be. But love it or hate it, Hideo Kojima’s vision was impossible to ignore. Now, nearly six years later, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach arrives not just as a sequel, but as a statement—a deeply personal, often surreal, and surprisingly emotional meditation on ...

One Step After Fall Review

In a gaming landscape dominated by high-octane action and sprawling open worlds, One Step After Fall dares to slow things down. It’s a quiet, introspective walking simulator that trades combat and puzzles for emotional storytelling and minimalist design. But does this subdued approach deliver a meaningful experience—or does it stumble under the weight of its own ambition? At the heart of One Step After Fall is Steve Robinson, a once-successful writer now ...

“Alchemists” is a cooperative horror game that combines elemental magic with ghost-hunting mechanics. Up to four players take on the roles of modern-day alchemists, using the classical elements—air, fire, water, and earth—to perform rituals and cleanse haunted locations. The concept is intriguing, and the game’s eerie environments initially promise a chilling, team-based adventure. Unfortunately, while the premise is strong, the execution leaves ...

Hotel Architect Review

Hotel Architect immerses players in the fast-paced, frequently chaotic realm of hotel administration, where visitor satisfaction, logistics, and innovation all come together. This simulation game, created by Pathos Interactive and published in May 2025, seeks to establish a niche in a market already dominated by industry titans like SimTower and Two Point Campus. Tiny Garden Review

Tiny Garden is an adorable, small farming game that feels like a digital memento. Players are transported into a world of gardening, puzzle-solving and storytelling within ten minutes. The game is set in ‘the miniature capsule toy’ like the iconic Polly Pocket character. This is a game that doesn’t rush you, but rather slows down, explores, and contemplates. With its core mechanic of a handle cranking to make time pass by, the game is ...
