Nintendo is synonymous with Mario, and Mario synonymous with Nintendo. When one thinks of Nintendo they probably don't think about the logo. Instead, they think about a plumber in a red outfit. In Part 2 of this series of articles I will examine which Mario titles I believe should get an HD treatment and why.

At E3, Nintendo made sure that everyone knew one, very important thing: Super Smash Bros on the Wii U was awesome, and that everyone should buy Super Smash Bros on the Wii U. What was almost forgotten at E3 was that the game would also be releasing on 3DS. Nintendo chose to highlight the Wii U version then, and many questioned what exactly was going on with the 3DS version.

Game Freak makes terrific games and finds a way to capitalize on them twice. Whether it was giving some color to the classic - Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue - or making minor changes to the overall game play - like Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver - they have given us good reasons to re-buy their titles. This past week, the Toronto Sun newspaper was able to sit down for a 45 minute with Nintnedo's own Miyamoto and Bill Trinen. Although I wasn't expecting much from the interview - since E3 had just wrapped up, and everything should have been talked about there - I was surprised by the information that Miyamoto did share. He spoke out about the new Zelda title, poor Wii U sales, and Star Fox.

The 3DS has been a great device for playing puzzle games, from the very popular Professor Layton franchise to the Pushmo series. The Wii U also has a fair share of stylus specific games, but it wasn't until Pushmo World was released that I finally took the plunge with one of them. It has been well worth it!

Giving games the HD treatment is not a new concept. In fact, companies have been doing it for years, and will likely continue for the foreseeable future. Not only is it an importunity for developers to make more money, but it is also an oppertunity for fans to relive some of the best games that are, more than likely, unavailable for them presently. Zen Pinball has paved the way for what pinball should feel like on your phone or tablet; they have set the bar for what good pinball is. Legendo Entertainment has their own Pinball client, but chose to release a standalone project: FCB Pinball, the official pinball app of the Barcelona Football Club.

Mario Kart 8 has now pushed passed the 2 million units sold mark. The first weekend sales topped 1.2 million, which means the title has sold more then 800,000 units in June; for Nintendo and their small Wii U install base, this is good news. Mario Kart is a pinnacle franchise for the company, and like Super Smash Bros later this year, it needed to be a huge success.

Have you ever played an older Harvest Moon title and lamented the fact that you had to walk a long ways just to get to a river to fish? No more. Natsume, the developers behind the very successful farming simulation franchise, launched a new trailer for their upcoming 3DS title, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley. While most of us assumed that Natsume would once again have to take the franchise in a new direction, I'm not sure many would have bet on a Minecraft knock-off.

I've always had a problem with E3. I love the event, the press conferences, and the announcements. I resent the financial commitment necessary to actually go to E3 and get the opportunity to play some of these games. Luckily, Nintendo has kept fans around North America in mind. Free-to-play titles are always difficult to review. Should they be reviewed without using in app purchases, or does a little money need to be spent to truly understand the game? Personally, I have my own way of doing reviews for these types of games. It is a simple formula, really. If the game lasts for more then a few days on my iPad, it's probably decent. If I play it more than a week, it's an excellent game. Warfare Nations falls somewhere in between.

A few members of the GamesReviews staff, along with myself, made a number of E3 predictions for Nintendo. In general, our predictions were pretty safe. But that doesn't mean we cannot ridicule those that were so far off the map; unfortunately for myself, I think I take the brunt of the ridicule. Regardless, here is how things worked out. I put a score on each category to see how well I, as well as the staff, did.

Even after what most are calling an excellent showing at E3 for Nintendo, the obvious sales issues are still at the top of everyone's news list, at least when it comes to Wii U. Nintendo has done everything within their power to change how the public views the Wii U, but have had limited success. Even after showing off tons of new games, people are wondering why games are not coming out sooner.

If you were hoping to perhaps have the ability to stream some of your favorite Wii U games on Twitch straight form the console, think again. Nintendo has partnered heavily with Twitch for E3 this year, having them be the official broadcaster of all their events, including the Smash Brothers Invitational.

When Nintendo releases a game, it is generally a normal experience. At the worst, it's perhaps a Mario game with a twist, ala Mario Galaxy. However, Nintendo's latest release - yes, this game has been available in Japan for over a year - is completely off the wall. For a title that does so little, Tomodachi Life is insanely addicting, witty, and often downright strange. It does, however, deserve your attention!
