Years Later, Stardew Valley is still Outstanding

Although it is not always a good formula, I often will base whether a game was “worth it” on how long I’ve played it, matched against how much I paid for it. Using that formula, Stardew Valley is my most “worth it” game, and it’s not even close. With hundreds upon hundreds of hours played on my Nintendo Switch, the 14.99 CAD I paid for the game is looking like a pretty good investment. Thanks to some multiplayer with a…

Everdell Base Game Has One Problem

I love a good game of Everdell, and expansions and subsequent games have fixed the problem I’m about to discuss. The issue for me is that this problem is still prevalent in the base game of Everdell, and until it gets fixed, I always find at least one person at the table is going to have a really bad, and unlucky, experience. In Everdell, players are getting cards and playing them into their city, using resources to do so, and…

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition Review (Nintendo Switch 2)

Late in February, Bethesda relaunched Fallout 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2 with the Anniversary Edition. This edition featured the base game, all six previously released DLC packs, and over a hundred Creation Club items for players to use. While we won’t be diving into the story elements in this review – Fallout 4 is an old game after all – we will be discussing whether or not this is worth it in 2026. You can read my full review…

Cozy Stickerville Board Game Review

I knew when I sat down to write this review, I’d have to be so incredibly vague as to not ruin the surprises this box holds. I think we tend to throw the term “cozy” around way to much when it comes to board games, and generally I think the term doesn’t usually fit the game it’s attached to. That is not the case here, as Cozy Stickerville is, at its core, an incredibly cozy experience, great for families. In…

Cozy Stickerville is a game I knew I was going to love the second I saw a Watch It Played vide with Rodney Smith. I love video games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing, and Cozy Stickerville gives me these kinds of vibes! Before we get into our review of this game – in a separate article – let’s take a look at what comes in the box! Cozy Stickerville has a nice mixture of premium components (stickers) and cardboard…

A New Yoshi and the Mysterious Book Trailer Dropped Today

Nintendo has released a brand new trailed for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, one of my most anticipated games of 2026. This trailer is all about the creatures you will discover in your adventures, and how you can interact with them during your adventure. Check out the trailer below: Here is more from…

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Reviews

A few weeks ago, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were relaunched on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. These games are almost direct ports of the original, with a few minor differences such as local wireless play and some special event tickets being available when you finish the game (for Deoxys, Ho-Oh, and Lugia). Despite the price, which we will discuss later, this is a great way to relive your favourite games from the GameBoy Advance era! Pokémon ...

Stonesaga Components Overview and Impressions

Stonesaga is the next epic adventure from Open Owl Studios, and one that I actually pre-ordered prior to a review copy arriving for us to create content for. I’ve been following Stonesaga for a long time now, and although I missed out on the campaign, I was able to get my own copy preordered through a local game store, which includes all the extras as well! Stay tuned for those articles in the near future. Today, though, we have access…

Rise of Babel Components Overview and Impressions (Legendary Edition)

When Rise of Babel was heading to crowd funding, we had the chance to preview the game and share our thoughts on what was a really great tile moving and placement game, driven by cards. We really enjoyed Rise of Babel, and I cannot wait to play the final version and post our thoughts about that as well. But first, let’s take a look at the games components. I think I’ll start with what I don’t like about this release,…

Ice and Idols Components Overview and Impressions

Inside Up Games rarely misses when it comes to their production quality, and Ice and Idols is no exception to this. That said, this game has a lot more going on than other Inside Up Games titles, so while there are more ways to impress me, there are also more ways to fail. How good do I think this production is? Let’s take a look! The Ice and Idols box is FULL of plastic, and I say that in the…

Perch Board Game Review

In 2025 and 2026, I’ve been trying to play games that perhaps I wouldn’t normally play. That means I’ve done a bunch of hidden role / movement games, and area control games. For the most part, I’ve surprised myself by enjoying so many of these experiences, and I hoped that Perch, a fairly aggressive area control game, would also be a hit.  Check out our components overview and impressions! In Perch, players are placing birds into locations attempting to ...

Madcala Board Game Review

Two player games in our household get a lot of attention as my wife and I love to play games in the evenings, but aren’t always up for a whole group of people to come over. Yes, most games play 2 – ? but the 2 player experience always seems to be lacking in most situations. When we got Madcala in for review from Druid City Games, I was instantly excited about it. Not only did it look great, but…

Bloodstone Coming from Druid City Games

Druid City Games – known for hits like Wonderland’s War, and a newer game, Madcala – is launching a game 10 years in the making. Designed by James Hudson and illustrated by David Kegg (Star Wars: Imperial Assault, Sorcerer City, Fireball Island: The Curse of Vul-Kar), “Bloodstone represents the culmination of a decade of iteration, refinement, and worldbuilding.” Here is an overview of the game from Druid City Games, In ...

Pokémon Pokopia Review

Everyone said that Animal Crossing: New Horizons came around at the exact right time, with people stuck at home due to a global pandemic, the game sold incredibly well and introduced so many people to the cozy life-simulation experience. While Pokémon Pokopia is not an exact remake of that formula, it does scratch the same itch in many ways, which is why I think Pokémon Pokopia is going to thrive on the Nintendo Switch 2. With so much content to…
