Life of Fly Impressions (Xbox Series)
Life of Fly features 12 short stories each revolving around the life and weird thoughts of another fly. Be prepared to experience some very unusual content, some interesting thoughts that go way beyond the normal life of a fly, and some entertaining short stories with a twist.
Just the description of the game alone sounded weird enough to interest me. In this game as mentioned above, you take on the role of one of twelve different flies and take each one around a different environment while they tell their unique tale. They talk about their life experiences in a way very different than well today I buzzed around and annoyed people….they are almost teaching life lessons around diversity, fear, pride, envy, and such. Almost in an Aesop’s fables way.
The game is similar to a walking sim, in the aspect that the focus is the narrative, there is no way to lose, etc. But instead of walking around your environments, you are flying, so you cruise around each unique environment climbing up and diving down, exploring your environment, and flying through shining rings to unlock the narrative a line at a time. Speaking of the environments they (aside from the story) are the most interesting part of the game, varying from different homes, to a pirate ship, to even a VERY odd murder basement (not quite sure it is very weird) they kept me engaged as I played through.
Overall I was interested enough to spend a little over an hour playing through the game, but if you are not into the short stories being offered the game offers little. The visuals are ok at best and the controls are slow and feel a little off. But if you like some good life lessons from the perspective of a fly, then I suggest grabbing this one on sale when you see it, it is very relaxing. But the base price tag of 14.99 does seem a little high for what it offers.
