Naughty Dog have released a video showing an alternative ending to their critical and commercial hit, The Last of Us. Don't worry purists, there's little here that'll ruin the quiet integrity of that ending, but it's all a bit of good fun nonetheless.

The Last of Us has now spent longer at the top of the UK charts than any other game of the year. Naughty Dog's latest has now been top of the list for six weeks, equalizing with records held by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and FIFA 14. While this is definitely great news for fans of the game, that it has set this record says more about the games that are releasing alongside it than it does The Last of Us itself.

Sony have today announced that The Last of Us sales have surpassed 3.4 million, both physical and digital. This is a pretty fantastic achievement for Naughty Dog and for Sony, who put a lot of marketing into a new IP at the tail end of a generation. The Last of Us was critically acclaimed, and it seems like it might just end up as a commercial success as well.
