Simon The Sorcerer Origins Review
In the 1980s and 90s, Adventure games were really popular on PC. Two of the most popular series were King’s Quest and Space Quest. There were many other Adventure game series out there too and one of them was Simon The Sorcerer. And now that series has returned with a brand new entry-a prequel that tells all about how Simon became a Sorcerer. Is this game worth checking out on Nintendo Switch? Here’s our review!

Simon The Sorcerer Origins stars Simon, a regular teenager whose family has moved to a new house. He starts exploring the house and then he’s sucked into a magical fantasy world. Once there, he just wants to go home but he has to go through lots of hoops and quests in order to get back to his world.
Simon The Sorcerer Origins has the same type of humor-the dry wit and sarcasm that the King’s Quest and Space Quest games, and many other Adventure games of the 80s & 90s had. This story and its dialogue do not take themselves seriously at all. Simon really doesn’t want to be here. The dialogue is definitely funny and the story is pretty neat. As for the gameplay? Its a classic Adventure game through and through.

As Simon, you wander around various places, interacting with objects, combining them, using them on other things and talking to people. This game is absolutely like an old school Adventure game.
There are two types of controls on Nintendo Switch: the analog controls where you use the analog stick and the buttons to control Simon and interact with things and the touch screen. Both of them work really well. We used the analog controls mostly but if you want something that feels more like mouse controls, the touch screen is the way to go.
If you like Adventure games, then Simon The Sorcerer is well worth checking out. It doesn’t do anything unique that we haven’t seen before and if you’re new to the genre, the difficulty might be a little high (no real hints), but it is an absolute blast from the past for fans of the genre. The game has excellent graphics and audio too.

The graphics in Simon The Simon Sorcerer Origins almost look like an animated movie. The animation in this game is very good and feels like a classic Adventure game but with a modern shine. And the voice acting in this game is excellent too.
Overall, Simon the Sorcerer Origins is a very good Adventure game. If you miss the sarcastic hero who realizes they are in a video game and just wants to get this over with, then you’ll feel right at home with this game. This is a game doesn’t hold your hand. Its Adventure game fun to its core. Fans of the genre will love it.
