What if dinosaurs attacked Tokyo? What if you couldn’t defend yourself? Well, you’d have sneak past the dinosaurs wouldn’t you? That or be eaten alive. Welcome to Tokyo Scramble for Nintendo Switch 2.

In Tokyo Scramble, a young woman named Anne finds herself on a subway car thats derailed in Tokyo. She finds herself underground and unsure of where she is. She starts to explore a little bit and finds a dinosaur in her path. She runs away from it and lives. For now. As Anne, you must try to survive the many dinosaurs underground and hopefully find your way to safe.

Stealth is the most important aspect of Tokyo Scramble. You have no weapons, so you’ll have to sneak past the dinosaurs. You do have a phone that has various apps that can be helpful to your cause-such as a light to blind the dinosaurs for a second. Otherwise, sneaking around, crouched, is your best bet. You can also run for a bit, but your heart rate will pick up and if your heart is beating too fast, your character will get dizzy and start to move very slow.

Tokyo Scramble is a pretty tough game, even on its normal setting. There are only two modes, the normal and a hard mode. The game does control really well, so you won’t be fighting against a bad control scheme. You can never blame the controls on being eaten by a dinosaur. You can only blame yourself. Be as careful as you can and maybe you’ll survive this good looking game.

Tokyo Scramble is a very good looking game. The characters, including the dinosaurs. are well rendered and so is the environment. The game also doesn’t over do it with the dinosaurs attacking you. You don’t see the part where your character is likely eaten. The game also has really good voice acting too.

Overall, Tokyo Scramble is a great game. It is a very challenging game. The dinosaurs are pretty smart. Maybe smarter than they should be. You have to be crafty about sneaking around, even on normal mode. If you love games like Metal Gear Solid and Dino Crisis, then you’ll absolutely love this game.

Thanks to Nintendo of Canada for providing a digital code for this review. Tokyo Scramble is now available on Nintendo Switch 2.
