Ticket to Ride Movie in the Works with Netflix

Ticket to Ride is one of the most popular board game franchises of all time with over 20 million units sold. The game has spun off into video game adaptations, legacy board games, and now even a movie, apparently. What a Ticket to Ride movie could be about is something we will all wonder for a long time, but this seems to be happening to, let’s see what asmodee and Netflix are saying about it!

Here is what Alan Moon, the creator of Ticket to Ride, had to say about this:

Alan R. Moon, author of the game said, “Just when I thought life couldn’t get more exciting, Ticket to Ride is teaming up with Netflix. I can’t wait to help bring these exciting projects to the millions of fans of the game.”  Alan R. Moon will executive produce on behalf of asmodee.

Here are a few more details shared by the public relations team as part of a press release issued yesterday,

The deal covers scripted and unscripted projects across film, television series, and other formats, and will be the first on-screen adaptation of the game. The first project being developed under the deal is a feature film written by Ben Mekler and Chris Amick. Producers are Darren Kyman for Asmodee, Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum for the Tannenbaum Company, and Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer for Megamix.

I have seen crazier things happen, so I’ll be cautiously optimistic that this game will transition to the big screen in a positive way! Only time will tell!
