Board Game Crowd Funding Campaigns to Consider
One of my goals in 2026 is to write a few more series’ of articles, one of which will be focused on crowd funding opportunities available. These will happen as I see projects I’m interested in; we will look at new projects – perhaps 2 or 3 per article – and projects you can still late pledge for, so let’s dive in things for this week!
Mountain Goats is a really fun, small box game from AllPlay where you roll dice and assign those dice to cards to move your goats up a mountain. If you get to the top of the mountain, you can earn some bonus points, and don’t leave until someone knocks you down by going there themselves. AllPlay is releasing a legacy version of this game which I’m going to assume was NOT on anyone’s board game bingo sheet! I do think it is an odd idea, but I love Mountain Goats and cannot wait to play this one. AllPlay is promising lots of really neat surprises, and a fully resettable game so you can play it again and again!

What drew me into looking at Spirited was actually just the artwork! I’ve not been the biggest fan of Garphill Games, likely cause I just haven’t played them enough, but the look of this one was enough to draw me in! Here is a quick blurb from the Kickstarter page! “In Spirited, you want to have the most spirit after the final battle. Players gain spirit by marching with clans to forge allegiances, fighting in battles, and building wonders. The clan draw pile contains three “Passing of Time” cards that advance the game one step closer to the final battle when revealed.” I haven’t looked into this one a ton yet, but there are plenty of videos available on the Kickstarter page to check out! I might end up backing this one! I do enjoy Shem Philips designs though – check out our review of Storm Raiders!

Running a board game media company cannot be an easy task, yet the Dice Tower continues to expand each and every year, providing more content for all of us to enjoy. Each year they run a Kickstarter or Gamefound campaign to raise money to support the channel. This funds go to paying salaries, upgrading equipment, and so much more! I don’t have a ton to say here except that I’ve been watching The Dice Tower for a long time now, and hope you will consider checking them out and supporting them!
