South Park: The Stick of Truth has done exactly what it deserved and has jumped to the top spot in the UK charts. Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman have leapt straight to first place, proving that a licencing attempt need not be a waste of money, and that constant delays are little in the face of a decent game. Of course, being a recognisable March release probably went a long way towards helping as well.

There have been a lot of South Park games over the last two decades and they've all be leading up to The Stick of Truth. Never before has there been a game that so accurately captures the show, both in construction, visuals and attitude. It's been a long time since we were fighting killer turkeys with snowballs, or answering questions with Chef, but those of us who've been burned before definitely need to take a second look.

uPlay seems to have avoided the majority of the hate that EA’s Origin seems to get, although that doesn’t mean it gets all that much love. The behind-the-scenes video for South Park: The Stick of Truth that was originally shown at Comic Con last year is now available to watch on YouTube. It's primarily an interview with Matt Stone and Trey Parker as they discuss the video game development process, but there's some good in-game footage for this much anticipated title. The game has been in the works for what seems like forever, but it will finally be released come March for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Last week's episode of South Park gave a brutal conclusion to the console war, and one that many PlayStation fans would no doubt be ready to contest. In one of the final scenes, Microsoft's Bill Gates savagely beat Sony's Kaz Hirai to death over which console the kids should pick up on Black Friday. If only it were that simple to shut up the internet and stop the silly arguments...
