I’ve really been enjoying Star Wars: Shatterpoint. I’ve said multiple times that tabletop war games are not generally my thing, but win or lose, I always have fun playing Star Wars: Shatterpoint. Late last month, Asmodee Canada and Atomic Mass Games sent over the Plans and Preparations Squad Pack for us to review. After my father-in-law got the figures all painted up, we finally got it to the table. Let’s take a look at this squad! The Plans and Preparations…

The Quest Kids: Giant Adventure coming to Kickstarter
Over the past few years, I’ve recognized the importance of networking within the board game community, and most of that networking happens virtually. While I’ve not been given many opportunities through that group, one came up last week that I am REALLY excited about. First, however, let me wax poetic about the struggles of finding good kids board games to play! Kids Aren’t Smart Enough For a long time, we have basically been force fed that kids are not smart…

Fae – Board Game Review
Back in 2002, Z-Man games released a title called Clans, a quick 30 minute experience that had players moving pawns around a fantasy map to score points. For what ever reason - perhaps Clans was very popular? - Z-Man decided to relaunch the game under a new coat of paint, and in 2018 released the refreshed version of Clans called Fae. Fae is designed by Leo Colovini, and is a 2-4 player, 30 minute experience that, like Clans, has players moving druids around a map in order to score points. Let's dive in and take a look!

Opinionated Logan: Animal Crossing amiibo Festival
If reviews from popular gaming websites are to be believed, Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is at best a rarely fun experience, but generally a snooze fest, legitimately. Some reviewers said they fell asleep playing this. We picked up the title over Christmas, and sure, some of what these reviews are saying is legitimate. However - and I have spoken about this in the past - it shows a disconnect between hardcore Nintendo fans and the casual audience Nintendo continues to cater too. My son Logan falls into that second category.
