Atari 50 Namco Legendary DLC Impressions
Digital Eclipse puts out the best collections of any publisher out there. One part game collection, one part documentary, many of their collections tell the behind the scenes of a series and let you play them too. One of their best, if not their best, is Atari 50. And now new Namco DLC has been released for the game. We checked it out and have impressions of it.

On Thursday last week, the Atari 50 Namco Legendary DLC came out. I bought it on day one and I’ve been playing around with it since. Here are my thoughts on it:
The Namco DLC adds several new games to the Atari 50 collection, the most important of which is Pac-man. Well several versions of Pac-man really. There is also Dig Dug, Galaga, Galaxian, and Xevious. Multiple versions of each of those games too. A new timeline was added along with new pictures and documentary footage.
The best footage in the new DLC is about Pac-man. There’s talk of its creation and its legacy. The other footage is pretty good too. I do wish there was even more footage but what’s included is really good! The new timeline is excellent.
As for the games, seeing multiple versions of each of them is great. Its amazing to see the simplest version of Pac-man (VCS) to more complex ones (8bit and 5200). The other games are fun too. I had a great time with all of them, especially Pac-man, Dig Dug, and Xevious.
As I was playing the games and exploring the timelines, I also discovered something I hadn’t realized: you can look at each of the game’s box art and instruction manuals. The amount of detail that Digital Eclipse added to the entire collection is jaw-dropping.
I like this new DLC a lot. It felt like one of the missing pieces to the Atari 50 puzzle. With each DLC that Digital Eclipse adds, this collection just gets better and better.
Here’s hoping they add an Activision DLC next. We need Pitfall please.
The Namco Legendary DLC is now available for Atari 50. The game and dlc is available on almost every system imaginable. We played it on the Nintendo Switch 2 and it looks really great, even though its not a Switch 2 game. Yet.
