Super Mario Maker 2 Nintendo Direct

Today, Nintendo had a Direct for Super Mario Maker 2. We have the Direct below in case you missed it. And of course I have some thoughts on the game too!

When I first saw Super Mario Maker 2, I thought it looked good but also I thought that it looked like more of the same. I wasn’t too excited for the game.

And now that I’ve seen the Super Mario Maker 2 Direct, well, my opinion has totally changed! Nintendo revealed enough new cool things for Mario Maker 2 to make me very excited for this game.

First of all, the online multiplayer aspect looks insane and awesome. I need to play online with my friends and randoms with this game! I know I’ll die a lot but it’ll still be fun.

Also you can play local multiplayer and the game has split joycon level creation. That means two local players can create a Mario course together!

Add to that the crazy amount of new things added to each course (like the moon), new areas (like the desert) and a new game layout (3D World). Oh and there’s a cool looking story mode too!

Nintendo, however, did not reveal any new game styles, no Gameboy levels or Super Mario 2. Though I wouldn’t be too surprised about getting some Super Mario Maker 2 DLC. This game seems like its made for DLC additions.

Super Mario Maker 2 looks so impressive! Even though the Direct was only 15 minutes, we were shown a lot about the game. In addition, a Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational (June 8) was announced for E3. And there are two new different ways to buy the game too, either via a special deal that also gives you the Nintendo online service or via Nintendo vouchers which can nab you another game in the process. I’d say that the Super Mario Maker 2 Direct was a complete success.

What do you think about Super Mario Maker 2? Will you be buying it next month?
