More Thought From Me: Pokémon Pokopia is Amazing
Our editor-in-chief Adam Roffel recently reviewed Pokopia and gave it a 10 out of 10. When I saw that and footage of the game, well, I had to play this game. And as it turns out, Pokopia is amazing. Let’s talk about why.
As I’ve mentioned before, many times, I’m a huge Animal Crossing fan. I still play Animal Crossing New Horizons every single day! And I also love checking other simulation games that are similar to AC. Oh and I’m a fan of Pokémon. So of course I was interested in Pokopia but I had no idea just how addicted to this game I would become.
Since I got Pokopia on Friday, I’ve been playing the game a ton. Even when I’m not playing it, I’m thinking about the game. This simulation game is even better than I imagined it would be.
There is so much to do in Pokopia and I’ve been doing a bit of everything: helping Pokémon, building things, exploring the massive world of this game, and more. And I keep finding so many things. Sometimes I’ll tunnel straight ahead and find a new area to explore or I’ll use blocks to build a way up and explore the highest mountains. There’s hidden items and recipes everywhere. Pokopia has a level of exploration and reward that Animal Crossing doesn’t. The two games are similar but also very different too.
Pokopia is absolutely a Pokémon game at its heart. Yeah there’s no combat, turn-based or otherwise, but you still have a Pokedex and you’re still trying to “catch them all”. The combination of Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Minecraft works really well. This game is super addictive and anyone who loves Animal Crossing will likely enjoy it. Though if you love Animal Crossing and Pokémon, watch out! This game is for you. I know its for me!
I love Pokopia so far. I can’t wait to play more!
