Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Is Much Better Than Before

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was a fun ride when we rode it last time at Epcot, but we had some many glitches and issues that made the entire experience really disappointing. Part of our recent trip to Epcot was to update our review and impressions of this ride – big thanks to Disney for having us out!

Last time we rode Remy’s it was still showcasing the 3D ride. In a conversation with a longtime Remy’s cast member, they indicated the switch from 3D to 2D was to improve the ride experience for guests, who often complained of blurry images, discomfort from the glasses, and frequent screen issues, which we did experience first hand.

Everything is in 2D now, thanks to a conversion that happened in November of 2025. When I first rode the ride in 3D, I thought the 3D really worked when it was going well, so I was a bit concerned that the ride being in 2D just wouldn’t have the same impact. Not only was the ride phenomenal, but we experienced no issues during the entire ride.

And now that I’ve experienced the entire ride, I can say the story telling is phenomenal. As you scurry around the kitchen and into the dining room, Disney does a great job of making you feel like you are in the kitchen and restaurant with Remy. Even without the 3D effects, the moments like when you are spun around by the person mopping still translate well, and I think the ride will be better because of the transition.

At the very least, it is a bit more stable of an experience, as the ride is down far less often than it was before, at least that is what my research into wait times and closures is telling me. If you hated the 3D elements of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the past, or had a sub-par experience because of the ride malfunctioning – our situation was blank screens originally – I think you should give this ride a second chance – it is really quite charming, and fun as well!
