Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Is the Upgrade Pack Worth It?
Nintendo has been pushing upgrades for many of their major games, and with prices all over the place, there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for why one game is one price, and another…another. Yesterday, Nintendo provided more details on the Super Mario Bros. Wonder upgrade pack, and it got me thinking. Is this pack worth 29.99 CAD?

There seems to be a lot coming for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and if you are a fan of the game, I think you are going to be really happy. Late last year, when Nintendo first teased this project, we learned about all the multiplayer fun that would be coming to the game. After yesterdays update, I’m seeing a bit more clearly why this is 29.99.
I can’t comment on the price too much before reviewing, but the content appears to be here. On top of the 17 mini games you can play locally, there is online play as well. There are also two major updates as well. In one, you’ll be working with the Toad Brigade out of Camp Central to complete objectives given to you. Further, the Kooplings have stolen the park bell, and you’ll have to explore levels from the game looking for, and defeating, the Kooplings. They look as if they will transform, kind of like Wonder transformations.

Bellabel Park is cool, but there are other updates as well! There is a new Flower Pot upgrade that lets Mario and friends throw…flower pots. Rosalina is also being added into the game, which is really cool, and Luma as well! Luma can be selected when playing two players, and one player flies Luma around the screen. Luma cannot take damage, but can collect coins and spin-defeat enemies! This will be great with my kids!
Overall, it appears as if the 29.99 CAD upgrade pack is going to be worth it, if you enjoy Super Mario Bros. Wonder the first time around. If you didn’t, this won’t change your mind!
