New Controllers Coming from PlayStation

If you’ve been looking to give your gaming setup a “glow-up,” Sony’s latest announcement is definitely for you. Moving away from the muted tones and deep metallics we’ve seen recently, the new Hyperpop Collection is all about turning the volume up to eleven.

Revealed today on the PlayStation Blog, this trio of accessories—Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue—is a love letter to the vibrant, neon-soaked world of high-end RGB setups. Here’s everything you need to know about the most colorful PS5 update yet.

The Hyperpop Collection isn’t just a simple color swap. According to Sony’s design team, these controllers and covers are meant to “take over the room.”

The standout feature is a seamless gradient that transitions from a deep, glossy black into a vivid neon. Unlike the matte finishes we usually see, these controllers feature a high-gloss coat that makes the colors look almost liquid under your desk lights. Even the console covers are getting a unique twist: a subtle transparency that adds a layer of depth reminiscent of the classic translucent consoles of the past.

Meet the Three “Tracks”

 * Techno Red: A high-energy, pulsing crimson that looks like it belongs in a late-night synthwave club.

 * Remix Green: A sharp, electric lime that’s guaranteed to stand out against any backdrop.

 * Rhythm Blue: A deep, electric cobalt designed for those who want to stay “locked in” during intense sessions.

If you’re ready to overhaul your setup, mark your calendars. You won’t have to wait long to secure yours:

 * Pre-orders Begin: January 16, 2026 (starting at 10:00 AM local time).

 * Official Launch: March 12, 2026.

Pre-orders will be live on direct.playstation.com for those in the U.S. and other supported regions, as well as at participating retailers like GameStop and Best Buy. Sony is even offering free launch-day delivery if you order through them directly.

If you’re a fan of the “maximalist” aesthetic or just want your PS5 to look as loud as your gameplay feels, the Hyperpop Collection seems like a perfect fit for 2026.
