LEGO® Education is Bringing its Classroom-proven STEM Learning Home

My wife and I have engaged with a ton of toy brands over the years, and have had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest names in the industry. While all toys are welcomed by my kids – what kid doesn’t love toys – it is the STEM specific items that leave the longest lasting memories. The LEGO Group, through LEGO Education, is brining STEM out of the classrooms and into homes with 4 new sets, available at Staples in Canada and at LEGO.ca.

I’ve always appreciate LEGO Elements as they push creativity in kids. I love to watch my kids bust out giant bins of LEGO at home – and yes, we have 100s of thousands of bricks – and begin creating. So what makes the LEGO Education sets so much different? Here are a few things LEGO has highlighted for us:

  • Build, Solve, and Invent methodology — kids follow instructions, then go off-script to design their own solutions.’
  • Real science, zero mess — unlike 10-minute experiments that create cleanup nightmares, these sets are endlessly playable and help kids develop essential skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and creativity.
  • Space & polar themes — Moon and Mars missions, Antarctic penguins, Arctic wildlife

LEGO and Staples are offering up four different sets for kids to enjoy, two priced at an MSRP of 64.99 CAD and two priced at an MSRP of 129.99 CAD. Here are more details on these sets!
