Soccer Slammers is on Switch to celebrate the World Cup! Atooi are doing a lot of good games for the Nintendo Switch. A lot of information was dumped on Nintendo fans during the companies 45 minute Nintendo Direct today, and we will have breakdowns of all the great games coming to Nintendo consoles within the next few days. However, we've compiled the highlights below, courtesy of Nintendo of Canada PR!

Let me start by saying, having the opportunity to experience the XBOX briefing was amazing. Not only did they announce the acquisition of five studios, they also showed 50 games, 15 of which were “console exclusive”. Of course, console exclusive doesn’t make a game belong to Xbox, some may be on PC as well (e.g. PUBG), others may only be exclusive to XBOX for a limited time.

The last few Mario Tennis titles have been a bit of a let down, but Mario Tennis Aces was looking to be the re-awakening of the franchise. For the last 4 or so days, we have been taking Mario Tennis Aces for a spin, and are enjoying it so far. While some aspects of the game may grow tiresome after we play it for weeks on end, after a few days, everything is still feeling fairly fresh. The biggest reason why we were excited about Mario Tennis Aces was the previously announced Adventure Mode. And we have some details for you!

Nintendo dropped another Mario Tennis Aces trailer ahead of the games launch later this month, and not only was it a good trailer, but it introduced a new gameplay mechanic as well. You can see the full trailer below, and past that, we touch on the new mechanic: Challenging the referee!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is just around the corner in Russia, but gamers can get in on the World Cup action early by getting the free update for FIFA 18. Already available on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, the FIFA 18 updates brings new menu visuals to the game, as well as complete tournament layouts for you to enjoy. Who will you take all the way to the championship!

Today, Nintendo provided further details about the Mario Tennis pre-launch tournament that is scheduled for ahead of the games official release on June 22nd. The event will run from June 1st at 6:00 PM Pacific to June 3rd at 11:59 PM Pacific. Watch the video below for more details!

MLB The Show 18 is breaking any major new ground in their year-to-year baseball outing, but does slightly build on The Show 17 in enough ways to make picking up the latest iteration money well spent. While the new features brought into the game are mostly cosmetic, upping the games presentation, they do add value that will be important for those who likely pick up each iteration anyways. If you've owned an Xbox One unit for long enough, you are likely very familiar with the R.B.I. series as it has been the only MLB game available on the console for a number of years now. While the PlayStation 4 has the luxury of having MLB: The Show year in and year out, Xbox fans are left with the relatively good and addicting R.B.I. series. As an arcade baseball fan, I'm more than OK with this being the only MLB offering on the Xbox One.
