Sweet Victory Board Game Review
When I visited the Ravensburger booth at GenCon 2025, the representative walked me through all the major titles coming from the growing publisher. Of course we all know about Disney Lorcana and the Horrified series, but the one game she sent me home with was probably my favorite.
The simplicity and dexterity required in Sweet Victory made the game a fantastic experience to offset the more serious games our group plays week-in and week-out. If you are looking for something light and fun, Sweet Victory is an easy recommendation.
Honestly, a wordy description of how to play the game seems wildly unnecessary, so check out this 30 second video from Ravensburger that goes over how to play the game. Yup, 30 seconds is all it takes to learn!
What I like about this game is that it’s great for all ages. We always struggle finding games that are fun for an entire group. Some games are too complicated for younger players, and easier games are too boring for the adults. Sweet Victory bridges that gap by providing an experience that’s just pure fun.
I’m not good at puzzles, and honestly cannot think fast enough to move the numbers into the appropriate columns to try and win a round. But despite rarely – if ever? – winning in this game, the experience itself is so much fun. Attempting to solve each card’s puzzle as fast as possible is fun, whether you are playing with others or going solo – yes, I highly recommend playing this game solo. Just set a timer for a set amount of time and see how many cards you can complete.
I don’t have a lot to say about Sweet Victory because there isn’t a lot here to talk about. And that is a really, REALLY good thing. This is the perfect filler game, the game you leave out for your relatives to try at holiday parties, or the game you give your kids to keep them off screens. It might not look like much, but the fun is endless in my opinion, and an easy game to recommend to board game fans and non-board game fans alike. It’s just too much fun to pass on.
