Kevin Austin has been in gaming journalism in one way or another since the launch of the Nintendo Gamecube. Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.

Halo Infinite Campaign showcased today

After not hearing or seeing a peep about it in over a year, Microsoft finally pulled pack the curtain a little on the Halo Infinite campaign today in a video showcase. While they have been very forthcoming in letting folks know all about (and even play a bunch of times) the multiplayer aspects of the game. Little has been showing in a long time, last time we saw it there was much industry disappointment with outdated graphics (see Craig). After…

Far Cry 6 Review

Far Cry 6 is finally upon us, after some delays and a huge marketing campaign that you basically can't escape, it is time to step into the land of Yara and go toe to toe with Anton Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito). As a fan of the Far Cry series for quite some time, I was eager to dive into a full game again after Far Cry 5. New Hope was ok at best but wasn't the full experience I was craving or looking for. Far Cry 6, however, is BIGGER, BOLDER, and BADDER than ...

RiMS Racing Review

I’ve never played a racing game like RiMS Racing, and its core unique mechanic is both the thing that makes the game stand out, and is also the thing that sometimes make the game tedious to progress through. RiMS Racing is the newest motorcycle racing sim from French publisher Nacon and first-time developer RaceWard, from Italy. The core concept of the game is that it’s part racing sim, part mechanic sim. Instead of earning more advanced bikes during the ...

Do People Value Reviews? An Answer in Numbers

Video gaming, like any industry, has its bad apples. In some cases, these are great, worm-infested balls of mushed pulp but, mercifully, the most that consumers have to deal with on a day-to-day basis are a few misshapen fruits. To put that in more relevant terms, bugs, delays, and expensive micro transactions have become something of a problem that gamers need to anticipate and avoid. Pre-release Reviews Due to the above, the review industry has carved out a ...
