Shantae and The Pirates Curse developed by WayForward Technologies (Mighty Switch Force) is another stellar entry in not only the Shantae series but its also another outstanding indie release that soars above what many other triple-A games are currently offering. The 24-minute direct focuses on many new features unseen in previous demonstrations of the game that include open world exploration, battle systems, and GamePad functionality. The Direct was hosted by several characters from the game that explore the use of mechs, the hopper camera mechanic, and new locations on the planet Mira like New Los Angeles and various mountains, lakes, and caves as well as a glimpse into the 5 continents.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has received a new trailer from Square Enix showing the gorier side of the game as well as some more of the action based elements of the gameplay in motion. More importantly, the trailer shows what players will receive if they decide to preorder the game, which is a fully playable demo of Final Fantasy XV.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has been banned for sale in Australia after the Australian Classification Board refused the game due to an implied rape scene. The scene in question is optional, and it can be skipped by a notice that warns of the content alluding to sexual violence which the user must choose yes or no to continue. Yet according to the classification report of Hotline Miami 2 it is still being refused classification:

Nintendo announced that the upcoming Intelligent Designs title Codename S.T.E.A.M launching for the 3DS on March 13th will allow players to unlock playable Fire Emblem characters through certain amiibo. Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina will all be fully playable by simply touching their corresponding amiibo to the New 3DS XLs bottom screen, or by purchasing the upcoming add on Near-Field Communications device for the older 3DS models.

Amiibo are currently shaping up to be one of Nintendo’s best ideas in years. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, Nintendo couldn’t have launched their new toy line at a better time.
