Farming Simulator Signature Edition (Nintendo Switch 2) Impressions

Farming Simulator 25 is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, in a way. Like when EA Sports was releasing FIFA games under the Legacy branding, Farming Simulator has released their latest title under the Signature Edition branding. This is all fine and good, but it does signal one thing before players even hop in: this won’t be the same experience you felt on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, or PC.

If you go into Farming Simulator Signature Edition with the hopes of having an experience akin to the other next generation consoles, you are going to be disappointed. While the Nintendo Switch hardware is definitely a lot better than where it was, and it as a marvel for a handheld, it still doesn’t have the processing power or graphical capabilities of other consoles. That said, I think the Nintendo Switch 2 has one major advantage: portability.

And that is ultimately why you will purchase Farming Simulator Signature Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 even if you own the other versions. Having the game on the go is outstanding, and despite some performance issues from time-to-time and a obvious graphical decline, having my farms, tractors, and more on the go is so insanely valuable to me. I rarely have time to play games on a television anymore, as my free time is in between kids events, laying in bed before going to sleep, etc. On top of that, it’s hard to get to the TV in my house as my kids get older. So gaming on Nintendo Switch 2 is ideal for me.

And yes, I’ve played hundreds of hours of Farming Simulator 25 on my PlayStation 5, and will continue to do so when I can. But to have this (almost) entire experience in my hands on Nintendo Switch 2? That’s pretty impressive.

So before going in, here are a few things to consider: framerate is worse, graphics are worse, some features are missing. But the portability, in my opinion, outweighs those problems, and I love having this experience eon the go!
