Snoopy and the Great Mystery Club: A Charming Adventure

Snoopy and the Great Mystery Club is an easy going, low stakes adventure perfectly tailored for young Peanuts fans and casual gamers. It thrives entirely on the  charm of its characters, featuring wonderful voice acting and a visual style reminiscent of both the classic comic strip and movies. While the gameplay is simple, relying heavily on fetch quests and light puzzling it succeeds in creating a heartwarming and authentic Peanuts experience which I loved.

Pure Peanuts Charm

From the moment you start, the game has a familiar classic Peanuts appeal. The art style is soft, bright, and captures the characters’ iconic looks perfectly, even in 3D. All your favorite characters, including Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the gang, are fully voiced, which adds a lot  to the game’s atmosphere and authenticity. Fans will appreciate exploring familiar locations like the baseball field and the school, and even taking flight as the World War I Flying Ace against the Red Baron! The Peanuts world looks fantastic.

Snoopy’s Wardrobe

The core gameplay mechanic involves Snoopy changing into different costumes like Detective, Gardener, or Beagle Scout to gain unique abilities to uncover clues. Seeing Snoopy in all his adorable alter egos is a genuine highlight and adds a fun, light layer of puzzle-solving to the exploration. I think any age can appreciate this.

Mini-Game Fun

Scattered throughout the four main chapters are fun mini-games tied to the Peanuts world, including batting at the baseball diamond, practicing field goals and trying to kick that football!, and soapbox derbies. These activities are simple but fun and offer a nice break from the main mystery solving. I had a fun time with it.

Mystery Easy for Older Players

The mystery solving is often very light, frequently boiling down to a series of fetch quests where you run back and forth across the semi open world map to collect items or talk to characters. The actual detective work of piecing together clues is a very minor part of each chapter, mostly happening at the end. For older players, this simple and repetitive pacing can feel repetitive, especially with a few frustrating camera angles. But it will be appreciated by the younger ones.

Version 1.0.0

The game’s main story can be completed in about 4–7 hours. It is designed to be very easy and non challenging, which is great for its target demographic younger children, but might disappoint some adult fans looking for a more complex adventure game. However, let’s face it, you shouldn’t be expecting challenges in a children’s game. It’s designed to be fun for everyone.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a complex, brain taxing puzzle game, this isn’t it. However, if you are a lifelong Snoopy fan, or if you’re looking for a non violent, charming, and genuinely heartwarming game to play with a young child, Snoopy and the Great Mystery Club is a perfect pick-up. It successfully transports you into the world of Charles M. Schulz, proving that a little bit of friendship and fun can solve any mystery.
