Ocean’s Heart

Ocean’s Heart is a Zelda-like action adventure that’s out on the Nintendo Switch today. Check out our review of the game below!

Ocean’s Heart is an action adventure that feels a lot like a 2D Zelda game. In fact, it looks a lot like a 2D Zelda game too. It does have some differences though.

The story in Ocean’s Heart centers around a girl named Tilla who goes off looking for her father and ends up on an epic adventure. The dialogue is full of humor and the story is mostly interesting.

Ocean’s Heart also has unique tools that the player finds in dungeons. They are pretty neat and some of them are not what you’d expect at all. There are also classic ones like the bow and arrow!

The dungeon layout is a lot like Zelda though: you find an item in a big treasure chest and then defeat that dungeons boss with it. You also get health upgrades after defeating the boss. It’s a good template but its too bad the game wasn’t more original with its dungeons.

Overall, if you need something that is like 2D Zelda but not that, then you may want to try Ocean’s Heart. The story and unique tools add some variety to the formula. It is a fun game, even though it doesn’t feel too original.

Ocean’s Heart gets 7.5 out of 10
