LittleBigPlanet Hub Details Revealed
LittleBigPlanet is about to get bigger, with the announcement of the free LittleBigPlanet Hub. Although Stephen Fry’s always-wonderful narration was a little vague, it essentially seems like a way to play user-created levels without needing to buy a copy of LittleBigPlanet 1 or 2.
It’s not quite as open as all that though. You won’t be able to just play everything. Instead, the developers at MediaMolecule will pick a small set of community levels each week. It also seems you’ll also have limitations as to what you can use in the level builder, although how limited has yet to be revealed. You WILL be able to utilize anything you’ve bought (or unlocked?) before, in previous titles, and the first world of both LittleBigPlanet games will be included free-of-charge as well, potentially with an option to purchase the rest as and when.
This is a free-to-play game, so expect to have additional content pushed you way at every turn – a little like LittleBigPlanet Karting already did.
It’s not all just old content repackaged though. The LittleBigPlanet Hub also includes developer-set challenges. If you’re a LittleBigPlanet veteran looking for new ways to play, keep an eye on these challenges and you may just find yourself excited anew.
LittleBigPlanet Hub will be available to download for PS3 later this year. No specific release date was announced, but if you’ve waited this long to see why Play, Create, Share is awesome, you won’t have to wait too much longer to join in the fun.
