Two Point Museum: Zooseum DLC Review (Nintendo Switch 2)

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Two Point Museum is getting updates slightly later than it’s PlayStation, Xbox and PC counterparts, but as I have said many times before: even if the performance is slightly worse and the graphics not quite as sharp, I’d still rather play on Nintendo Switch 2. Last week, the Two Point Museum: Zooseum DLC launched on the console, bringing a ton of new stuff to your museums. Let’s see if it was worth the 14.99 CAD price tag!

Spoilers, it most definitely is. There is a brand new zoo to explore, new items to collect and use, tons of new decorations, floors and wallpapers, and so much more. You can get a new type of specialist, create new items in the workshop, and travel to a whole new world to collect animals and increase the biodiversity rating of each location. Zooseum functions a lot differently than other specialties in the game, in that going to a place on the map won’t increase the biodiversity (level) of that region; instead you’ll need specialized workers and items from the workshop to increase that level; it takes a bit more work, but it’s worth the effort and changes up the formula enough to keep things fresh.

You’ll be bringing back loads of animals from these locations, and these animals need to be cared for. Food and water, clean enclosures, and more – you’ll need an army of specialists to handle all your animals. If you ever wonder if you have enough, hire more! The animals you bring back might be inflicted with diseases, so you’ll need to get them all healed up before placing them out on display. And you can do good work for the world as well by reintroducing animals back into the wild, earning you more good things in the process.

Zooseum is doing enough different to keep things fresh. Some have complained that this new entry changes up the formula too much, but I disagree. I like how increasing the rank of animals is different, and the ability to release animals back into the wild seems accurate to what Zoos attempt to do in the real world; it probably also keeps people from getting angry at Two Point Museum for even suggesting having animals in pens!

If you are looking to expand your Two Point Museum experience, I cannot recommend this expansion enough. It is 14.99 CAD well spent!
