Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Impressions
Square Enix provided us with an early review code for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined on Switch 2 and we’ve been playing it a lot. Our review isn’t ready yet but we wanted to provide you with some impressions of the game. How is Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined for Nintendo Switch 2 so far?

I previously played Dragon Quest 7 on the 3DS. I had never played it before on PlayStation 1. The newest version of the game, Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, comes out this week. I was provided with an early review code for the game last week and have been playing it a lot. Here are my thought on the game so far:
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is the best looking version of the game yet. The main characters look fantastic and in my opinion, the enemies look even better. Dragon Quest baddies have never looked this great before and thats saying a lot. They especially look cool up close in battles.

The environments look very good too. Reimagined is absolutely a feast for the eyes in portable mode or on the television set. I liked playing this game in portable mode and the way adventures are set up, almost in chapters, really makes the game feel more like a handheld adventure than a big screen one. Though the game is great either way you want to play it.
I love all of the new things that have been added to the game, such as the autosave, settings that can make the game easier if you want (like full health after a battle) and seeing enemies run around on the world map and in dungeons. There are only random battles on the sea. This version of Dragon Quest 7 is definitely more friendly to new Dragon Quest players, though I think that long time fans will enjoy it too.
With the new graphics and new gameplay elements, this game feels very new. Its been awhile since I played the 3DS version too so that helps but Square Enix really went the extra mile with this reimagining and made it an even better game.

I really love Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. I’m totally addicted to this game. I’m loving every second of the adventure so far. I will try to have my full review as soon as I can but right now, I want to savior the experience of this game. Please Square Enix, I beg you, please, please, please do a reimagining of Dragon Quest 9 in this style. I love that game so much and would be so happy to play it again, with this style and on Switch 2. Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined definitely feels at home on the Switch 2. It runs so well. It looks so good. You will need this rpg when it comes out on February 5th, 2026.
Thanks to Square Enix for providing a digital code for our review. Stay tuned for more coverage!
