Disney Dreamlight Valley – Moving to Nintendo Switch 2
Not every game on Nintendo Switch is going to get a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version, and for most games that’s perfectly OK. What is happening, though, is most games are getting a nice boost on Nintendo Switch 2 regardless of what update has come out, and none-of-those improvements are more noticeable than in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

We’ve been playing Disney Dreamlight Valley since the game originally launched, and Gameloft has supported GamesReviews well with review codes and more to enjoy the game. We recently ported over one of our ghost writers to the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, and their minds were blown. Here are just a few of her thoughts on the experience on Nintendo Switch 2.
The most obvious and noticeable difference between the Nintendo Switch version of Disney Dreamlight Valley and the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game are load times. And we are not just talking about loading into the game from the main menu, but load times in all areas. Loading into new areas of your current map, loading into new maps, enter the menus, moving through the menus, exciting menus, and more. Faster load times go hand-in-hand with better framerates as well, which makes the entire Nintendo Switch 2 version so much more enjoyable.
On Nintendo Switch, we played the game because we were huge Disney fans, and crappy performance wasn’t going to stop us from enjoying a game we really liked, mobile in our hands. Between it being a Disney game, and a game we could play while watching our favourite sports or a movie or who, we forgave the games many faults – hardware issues more often than not. Now we don’t have to deal with that. Sure, the experience still doesn’t rival what you get on Xbox and PlayStation, and doesn’t come close to PC, but it’s a MUCH more stable experience. We cannot wait to explore it more!
