I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival First Impressions

A few days ago, I purchased I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival and while I wasn’t expecting much, I do love a cozy crafting game, and love a survival game even more. I’ve played hundreds of hours of games like Conan and ARK: Survival Evolved, but I Am Future is giving of a much cozier, much less hostile vibe.

That isn’t to say there are not things to be concerned about. When nighttime roles around, creatures will come out, and without the right setup will wreak havoc on your base and gardens. The game does a great job of walking you through how to handle these challenges, though, which I really enjoy. Content and areas of the map are drip fed to you as you slowly begin to understand how the game works. But there is limited handholding in my opinion. The big things are explained to you, so you’ll never worry about HOW to get to your next objective. But some of the other stuff requires digging into menus and exploring, and I like that.

Here is the quick overview of the game from the development team:

I Am Future is a relaxing single-player survival game about building a cozy rooftop camp amid a flooded post-apocalyptic city. Set up a farm, go fishing, tinker with gadgets, craft new tools, manage a team of cute robots to automate and expand your base, explore the mysterious world, and chill out!

I am excited to check out this game more. I’ve just begun making companions, and running expeditions, and more. I’m early on, but my small investment of about $25 CAD has been well worth it already. This is a game I can see myself playing for a very long time! Do you enjoy cozy survival games? Is this something you would check out! Let us know!
