Discounty Review
Hello! Welcome to your new job, the wonderful world of Discounty. Here you’ll keep the shop stocked, sell items, and expand the store while also getting to know your local customers. We’re very excited for you to be running the shop. For more information, check out our review of Discounty for Nintendo Switch.
In Discounty, you move to a small town where you end up running a supermarket. You’ll stock the shelves, sell stuff, upgrade the shop and more. There’s also a story that unfolds as you sell stuff and make the shop even bigger. Discounty’s story is interesting but its the gameplay that hooked me.

Running the supermarket Discounty is not easy, especially in the beginning. Stocking shelves is simple but as people buy stuff, you have to keep those shelves stocked and also you run the checkout lane too! There is a little bit of a learning curve here, a lot of your customers will go away mad because you’ll have to get use to quickly punching in numbers and checking things out. The more you check things out though, the easier it gets. There is, thankfully no penalty for customers going away mad. You do get points that help you though when you make customers happy.
Discounty is a game where time goes fast like Harvest Moon. Once you start selling stuff, before you know it, times up and its time to close the shop. Time moves a little too fast. It would have been nice if you could slow it down. And while we enjoyed the cycle of sell stuff/go to bed/get up and do it again, some players may find the cycle too repetitive.
As you progress in the game, more stuff for your store unlocks along with more of the story. If you enjoy simulation games where you sell stuff and interact with people, then you’ll probably like Discounty a lot.

The graphics in Discounty remind me of Stardew Valley or Moonstone Island. Its that same slightly overhead look. Its a nice style and fits this game well.
Overall, Discounty is a fun simulation game. It might be too repetitive for some people but for others, the selling will be very addictive. The story is interesting enough and the graphics are nice. If you need a need a new mostly laidback sim experience, Discounty is worth checking out.
