More Thoughts From Me: I have a Switch 2
I have a Switch 2! What does this mean?! Well, its means I have some thoughts on the Switch 2 also. Here we goooooo.
My birthday was last week and an amazing friend gave me a really amazing surprise: they bought me a Nintendo Switch 2!
The Switch 2 came with Mario Kart World and so I connected my Nintendo account with my new system and downloaded some games, including Mario Kart World. And thanks to some Amazon money from another friend, I got Donkey Kong Bananza! Now I’ve had about three days with the system and these games. What do I think of the Switch 2 so far?
Well, first of all, I absolutely love the Switch 2. I like playing in portable mode and the new screen is amazing. The graphics are so much brighter and so much better. The system runs Animal Crossing New Horizons, Breath of the Wild, and Disney Dreamlight Valley a lot better. The games look better and load faster. I also was able to get the Fantasy Life Switch 2 upgrade and that improved the look of FL a lot. Wow.
The sound in portable mode is much louder than the Switch or Switch Lite. So playing portable mode is better than ever.
Of course, you might be wondering: what about Mario Kart and Donkey Kong?
Mario Kart World was the first game I played on the Switch 2. The game is absolutely beautiful and it plays so well. The new tracks great, along with all the characters and karts. I’m a huge fan of free roam mode too. I love being able to go anywhere in this amazing open world. Mario Kart is a blast on Switch 2 and I doubt I’ll ever go back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This new MK is so much better and thats saying a lot, Mario Kart 8 was pretty great.
And then there’s Donkey Kong Bananza! Oh my. Wow. I loved Super Mario Odyssey but this game just blows that one away. Donkey Kong is such a fun character and being able to smash everything is fun and therapeutic. Plus Pauline is wonderful and her music sounds great and her charm and dialogue adds so much to this game. The environments you explore and all the stuff you find….well…Donkey Kong Bananza is already my favorite game of 2025. I doubt anything will top it. I guess you never know but right now, I’m addicted to Bananza. Its incredible.
The Switch 2, overall, is a fantastic system. I have a feeling that I’m going to like it even more than the original Switch or the Switch Lite. Thats saying a lot because those systems were my favorite systems of all time. I’m very excited about the future of the Switch 2!
