More Thoughts From Me: Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Hype

There are so many games I’m looking forward to this year: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario & Luigi, Fantasy Life, Epic Mickey Rebrushed, Star Wars Outlaws, and of course Metaphor! However the game that I keep thinking about and the game I most want to play is Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D. Let’s talk about why I’m hyped for this game!

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D is coming out this year in November and I’m so hyped for it.

I reviewed Octopath Traveler 2, Live A Live, and Triangle Strategy. I am, without a doubt, a huge fan of the HD-2D graphical style. That said, as much as loved those games, I’m a even bigger Dragon Quest fan. So what about a game thats Dragon Quest and a remake in the HD-2D style?

Yes, it means that I’m super hyped for the game. And from what I’ve seen so far, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D lives up to my hype!

The game is absolutely beautiful. Look at all the details: amazing water effects, cool pixel art characters, the varied places to explore, and the fantastic battle system.

Oh let’s talk about the battle system for a moment. In Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D, the battles are turn-based. You see the characters when you go into battle and then it shifts to a first person view for combat. The first-person view is very in line with the orignal game. I have to say that I love the shift. Sure its cool to see the characters fighting but I really love how Square Enix is balancing the new graphics with the old style of play. Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D is a love letter to Dragon Quest fans.

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D is my must have/play game for this year. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Not only is this game coming this year, but we’re getting Dragon Quest 1 + 2 HD-2D next year. WOW. I’m so very hyped.
