More Thoughts From Me: Hogwarts Legacy Impressions

Hogwarts Legacy has been out for awhile now but I just got the chance to play it for the first time late last week. So what do I think of the game? Here are my impressions so far of Hogwarts Legacy for the Xbox Series S.

Yes, I’m a Harry Potter fan. I read the books as an Adult and liked them. I saw all the movies. I even liked the first Fantastic Beasts movie (though not the other two). So Hogwarts Legacy seemed right up my alley. I’ve been wanting to play it for awhile now but hadn’t had the chance. Late last week, though, I finally got the game. What do I think of Hogwarts Legacy so far?

Well, I’m addicted to the game! Hogwarts Legacy hooked me right from the start with an gripping, very epic beginning that I won’t spoil. And even after getting to the castle, I just couldn’t stop playing the game. Hogwarts Legacy is everything I wanted it to be and more.

The game’s graphics are absolutely stunning. Everything from the characters to Hogwarts and the land around in it are so detailed and it feels like you’re playing a new Harry Potter universe movie. This is so much better than those Fantastic Beasts sequels. In fact, it might even rival the original HP stories.

Hogwarts Legacy has a really interesting story so far. The cutscenes in this game are very good. The voice acting and writing are just perfect. That said, I love how the game gives you plenty of time to explore the castle and once you get to go outside, the big open world around Hogwarts is open to you. You can go to Hogsmeade and other areas around it. There is just so much to see and do in this game. Its so incredible!

What about the combat? This game has combat right? Yes it does and that is perhaps the hardest part of the game. The combat can be pretty tricky, especially when you have to string button presses together quickly. There are quick button presses to dodge attacks too. I’m not 100% sold on the combat, even though I do really love the spells. My favorite spell is the Revel spell that shows you hidden things. Collecting the hidden pages in this game is one of my favorite activities. Oh and I just got broom travel too! Hogwarts Legacy is a super addictive game overall.

Hogwarts Legacy is easily my favorite game of the year at this moment. Yes, over Tears of the Kingdom and thats saying a lot. I’m not sure if Hogwarts Legacy will be my game of the year. There are still plenty of other games coming soon: two Mario games, Star Ocean, and a Dragon Quest game! However, I’m pretty sure Hogwarts Legacy will be in my top 10 games of 2023 list. whew. What a great game.
