Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Review-in-progress Part 3: Is There A Story?
In part 1 and 2 of our review-in-progress of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we talked about the gameplay and what makes this game different from Breath of the Wild. In part 3, we’ll talk about the story while trying not to give away too much. With all its unique gameplay, does Tears of the Kingdom have a story? And if so, is it any good? We’ll tell you what we think so far! Spoiler Warning: if you don’t want even a hint about the story, do not read this article. Also, we’re not including any spoilery pictures!
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a good story but its gameplay was at the forefront and you could take on the story in any order you want. After the start of Tears of the Kingdom, which is a bit more extensive than the previous game, you’ll be able to take on the story in whatever order you want. Tear’s story, so far, seems to have a lot more going than Breath of the Wild.
Link will get glimpses of another part of the story by going to different unique areas and he’ll be able to visit the different lands that appeared in Breath of the Wild for even more of the story.
The sky and the underground also have a lot of hints at the game’s backstory and add a lot of world building. Tears of the Kingdom’s story is just as massive as its unique world!
So far, the story is pretty great. It plays off of Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity a bit. Tears of the Kingdom is just full of surprises and we are trying to tip-toe around spoilers in this article. Let’s just say, though, that Zelda has a much more important part in this game’s story than in the previous game. It seems like Nintendo decided, along with making the gameplay better, that they’d give us a much better story too.
Breath of the Wild’s story was good, but Tear’s story is so much better. You’ll want to know where the story is heading!
What about Tears graphics though? We’ll talk about that in the final part our review-in-progress!
And our full review will be out on Friday!
Thank you to Nintendo Canada for providing a review code for this game. Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now available for the Nintendo Switch!
