Two Point Campus Previews Have Dropped
There are a handful of games I am looking forward to in 2022, but number one on my list might shock a few people. Seeing as I hold Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle in my top 5 Switch games of all of time, you would expect that, should it launch this year, Spark of Hope will be my number one! Nope, it’s actually a simulation game called Two Point Campus, and it’s something I cannot wait for!
I’ve played Two Point Hospital to death on my Nintendo Switch. Generally, these games do play much better on PC, but the Two Point team has done an excellent job carrying over all the controls and mapping them well for console players. Being able to play on the go whenever I want is one of the main reasons I’ve dropped so much time into Two Point Hospital. Without the portability of the console, who knows how excited I would be for Campus.
Previews for the game are now dropping, and while we haven’t been able to play the game quite yet, we are excited about what we have seen. Let’s roll back a few of the changes coming to Two Point Campus!
- Item stacking for room prestige is almost gone. Spamming items like Gold Awards won’t have the same impact it did in Two Point Hospital. While subsequent items still provide a boost to room prestige, the amount earned decreases substantially with each placement. Gone are walls covered in plaques!
- It’s important to build some rooms larger than you think you will need. In Two Point Hospital, you rarely had more than 2 people in a given room, so you created each room to allow for prestige increases, while not wasting too much space. In Two Point Campus, labs can have a whole class learning at once, and with secondary learning items available to buy with Kudosh, you’ll want to make sure you have room for it all!
- In Two Point Campus, there is a long term commitment to the people you are serving. In Two Point Hospital, making sure people were happy in the hospital was important, but ultimately the goal was to treat them and get them out as quickly as possible. In Two Point Campus, you will need to spend a lot more time keeping students happy. After all, some of them are sticking around for many years, earning key diplomas, forging friendships, and more. Making sure they are happy is key to making sure money is rolling in!
- You can finally build outside! Two Point Hospital limited your building options to the interiors of predetermined buildings. With Two Point Campus, you have full control over what the outside of your buildings look like, and even what a building on a plot of land looks like, should you choose to customize it yourself! This will provide even more opportunities for players.
Two Point Campus arrives this August on Nintendo Switch, and I cannot wait. Are you ready for it?
