Get Ready to Become Miles Morales in Just 7 Seconds
One of the next-gen features I’m most excited about is the near nonexistent load times. Not that current load times have bothered me all that much, but it will be nice to have a more immersive experience. However, these frequently touted load times have not been showcased less than two weeks from release. Until a recently leaked video, that is.
Note: we at GamesReviews do not have a PS5, nor a copy of Spider-Man for the system.
In a video that Sony has been working hard to remove from the internet, a player is seen booting up Spider-Man: Miles Morales in roughly 7 seconds.
Now, this is amazing in its own right, but what impressed me more was how long it took to go from the start screen to actual gameplay. 2 seconds. You read that right. It takes 2 seconds for the game to load once it’s launched.
It appears that Sony has kept its promise of almost eliminating load times thanks to the powerful SSD inside the PS5. I didn’t realize just how big of a game changer quicker load times would be until I saw this video, so I highly suggest you check it out.
It’s going to be interesting to see if these blazing fast load times can survive as the console ages and more advanced games get released. One thing is for sure, my phone usage while playing games is going to decrease quite a bit when I pick up my PS5.
