What Do You Want to Know About The Last of Us Part II

Good news! We (thanks to the awesome folks at Sony Interactive Entertainment Canada) have the pleasure of being able to play, experience and review The Last of Us II. This is truly one of the most anticipated titles to come across our gaming consoles this generation, despite the leaks and negative press from some!

The first game holds a VERY special place in my heart, easily in the top 3 games of all time for me personally. The emotional connection I have with this story is strong, being a father of daughters myself – I can easily relate to Joel, and the narrative had strongly pulled at my heartstrings. Yes, it was the first time a game made me cry, I’m not ashamed to say that.  Naughty Dog has set the bar extremely high with their story-telling capabilities, their solid game play, and their ability to deliver moments that stay with us long after the power button is turned off.

So part of me wonders, can they possibly deliver this again? Will I experience the same anxiety as I hear the Clickers echo in my headphones? Will I cry again? I have successfully been able to avoid all the rumors, leaks, etc and now can experience it myself with no prejudice. There is no pre-conceived notions of what this game is for me going in. Just that I hope to relive in a new way yet another experience that shapes me as a gamer, in what may be the swan song for the PS4. Will this game echo the experience of the end of the PS3 Era?

Closer to launch, we will have our full review and impressions of The Last of Us II. If there is anything you want to us look at while playing, or things you want us to touch on, send me a tweet and I’ll be sure to let you know when the review is live!

blank Kevin Austin has been in gaming journalism in one way or another since the launch of the Nintendo Gamecube. Married and father of 3 children he has been gaming since the ripe age of 6 when he got his first NES system and over 30 years later he is still gaming almost daily. Kevin is also co-founder of the Play Some Video Games (PSVG) Podcast network which was founded over five years ago and is still going strong. Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.
