More Thoughts From Me #149: Burnout? Is that you?

I got Playstation Plus last month and the first free game I downloaded one of this month’s releases: OnRush! I’m a huge fan of the Burnout series and OnRush looked like it was be fun on that level. So I downloaded it and I love it so far. Let me tell you why.

I like unrealistic racing games such as Mario Kart and the Burnout series. Why? Because I really suck at racing games. I’m a terrible driver. I don’t drive in real life because yes, I even suck at driving in the real world. So racing games like Mario Kart and especially Burnout appeal to me. And so when I saw OnRush for Playstation Plus this month, I knew I had to download it.

OnRush is an unrealistic racing game where the vehicles go really fast and you can slam into enemy cars (like Burnout) and take them out of the race. I love that. The best part of the Burnout games was always the takedowns.

This game does remind me a lot of the Burnout games, but there are some key differences. For instance, you are not alone in any of the races. You have a team of cars that race with you. Also, the tracks for OnRush are very off-road and more open than the original Burnout tracks. So this game isn’t a complete copy of the Burnout games, but it has a similar feel.

OnRush is a ton of fun. The entire feel of the game, the races, and the takedowns are just fantastic. OnRush can be played online or offline. There are many modes and more to unlock as you go. Plus the vehicles and the driver are customizable. There are ‘gear boxes’ to get and unlock too.

If you like the Burnout series, you should try out OnRush. As a free game on Playstation Plus, especially, it would be an excellent addition to your library!
