We knew that the Switch paid online service would start in September, but we didn’t know when. Now we have a little bit more information: it will start in the second half of September. This still isn’t a specific date and hopefully we’ll get that soon.
Nintendo is slowly rolling out details about its service. We know the pricing, about Cloud saves, online play, and that there will be 20 NES games that subscribers will have access to at launch. More games will be added after that. There are supposed to be special offers for subscribers too.
Check out Nintendo Canada’s website here for the run down of what we know so far.
Will we learn more soon? What do else do you think Nintendo will reveal for its paid online service?
UPDATE: Nintendo America just tweeted this:
“#NintendoSwitchOnline will launch in the second half of September. The service provides access to online play & Save Data Cloud backup in compatible games and a growing library of NES titles with added online play.”
“The Save Data Cloud backup in compatible games” part is new. Hmm. What do all of you make of that?
