Hello Neighbor Preview

So your neighbor may have committed a crime. Possibly a murder. You see him doing something fishy in his house. And so you call the cops right? Wrong! Instead of calling the cops like any sane person, you decide that you must sneak into your neighbor’s house and find out what exactly he was doing. Crazy right? Its also the premise for a brand new Nintendo Switch game called Hello Neighbor. Its coming out tomorrow, but I got an early look at the game. Lets go peak in the window!

Hello Neighbor is strange game. I like it!

It should be noted before I go any further that I suck at stealth games. I still have no idea how I beat Twin Snakes, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Metal Gear Solid 4. Yes, I’m bragging. Shut up. Somehow I beat those games. Still…I do suck at sneaking around and I’m way out of practice. Maybe I should go investigate my neighbors…

No wait. I think I’ll just keep playing this game instead. Hello Neighbor is all about sneaking into that creepy neighbor’s house in order to see what hes up to. The thing is, though, that the creepy neighbor isn’t dumb. He is onto you right away. He will catch you and then he’ll do…well…I don’t even want to think about what he’ll do. To you. To me. Thankfully Hello Neighbor doesn’t show us what he did to us.

Instead, if the neighbor catches you, you end up back to where you started or sometimes you end up in some creepy “after life”. I think its an after life. I’m not really sure what these creepy sequences are all about. Eventually, you end up out on the street again though. Of course, if you don’t have “Friendly Mode” on, then you’re neighbor will learn from your mistakes and be ready for you next time.

What do I mean he’ll be ready for you? Well, on regular mode, the neighbor will set traps for you. He’ll be waiting for you in some rooms too. He can track your patterns. So you better learn from your mistakes too!

So far I have gotten caught by the neighbor every time. I haven’t figured out how to navigate his house yet. I’m going to have to start getting inventive! I can’t let that neighbor catch me again!

Hello Neighbor comes out on Friday, July 27th for the Nintendo Switch. Thats tomorrow! If you like breaking into your neighbors house, first of all: whats wrong with you?! Second of all, stop doing that! And third of all: play this game instead.

Pro Tip: Don’t try to get into the car in front of the house. You can’t. The neighbor will just catch you there.
