Assassin’s Creed Origins: Autopilot and Senu

There are a number of things you can do in Assassin’s Creed Origins that are never actually spelled out for you, and you’ll need to learn to do it on your own. Some of these things are fairly minor and obvious, such as dipping your arrow in a fire to set it ablaze. Others, however, are not as obvious, and if it wasn’t for all the good people on Twitter, I might have never known this was an option. I call it the Autopilot and Senu Scope technic, and it has changed the way I play Origins!

Scouting out enemy bases and camps is key to moving in undetected and nabbing up some great loot. Whenever you roll up on an enemy base, you’ll be prompted to release Senu and scout the area, tagging all the enemies, finding all the chests, and planning on where your best point of entry is. I always felt a bit weird arriving 50 feet out from a destination, only to stop, send Senu into the skies, and scout. It didn’t’ feel very fluid, especially since my character appeared immune to animals and nearby enemies while in this mode.

Then a few lovely people on Twitter pointed me to something I didn’t no existed in Assassin’s Creed Origins: scouting with Senu while also traveling to a point of interest. One of the better features in Assassin’s Creed Origins is the ability to set your horse on auto-pilot, which will bring Bayek to his objective in the quickest route possible, allowing you to watch the scenery fly by, or even pull out your bow an engage with enemies and animals all around you. Another great use of autopilot in Origins is to set your destination, than take to the skies as Senu, and scout ahead, all the while you horse will carry Bayek to the predetermined location.

Scouting and flying above Bayek with Senu changed the way I played Assassin’s Creed Origins. Not only could I scout the destination I was aiming for, but I also could scout locations along the way, tagging chests and more for a future adventure. At times, it would also make my reign in my mount and head in an entirely new direction if a lootable chest was nearby and easy to obtain. After all, you never know what I might be in that chest, that could aid you in your immediate quests.
