June Loot Gaming Review – Arena

June’s Loot Gaming – Arena – came a bit later than expected, but none the less, we have unboxed it and are ready to give our review. This months theme was Arena, with various MOBA franchises gracing the inside of the box. From DOTA 2, to Team Fortress, to Overwatch, this box is a must have for any big MOBA player. Unfortunately, I’m in the process of moving from one house to another, so all my video recording equipment is in a box. That means…no video for this month! However, read on for our thoughts on all the great items in this months Loot Gaming.

As always, you can get your own Loot Gaming here and use the coupon code: GAMESREVIEWS to save a few dollars!

Overwatch Funko Pop

Loot Gaming Arena

The first item I saw in the box was Tracer form Overwatch. Although Tracer is available in the original Overwatch Funko collection, this one is a loot crate exclusive as it has the green mask and black suit as opposed to the orange mask and orange suit of the original – as pictured on the box. For those who love Overwatch, this is a great item. For those that collect Funko Pops, this is a great item. The exclusivity of this item makes your collection different than the guy you are competing with down the street. Well, at least as long as he isn’t getting Loot Gaming, which obviously we hope he is!

Loot Gaming Arena Pin

The Loot Crate family of pins is by far the best on the market. Gone are the days of the silly cheap buttons, and instead we are given these really cool badge looking pins. As a genuine nerd, I partake in pin swaps whenever possible. The last one I did at Disney World resulted in many people offering up a LOT of pins in exchange for any of my Loot Gaming and Loot Crate pins. Obviously, I did not trade. However, on my upcoming Disney Cruise, I just might…for the right price! Sadly, I don’t think the Loot Gaming pins are unlocking cool extras like the Loot Crate pins are, but someday perhaps, right Loot Crate?

DOTA 2 Mouse Pad

I know it sounds odd, but I actually do collect mouse pads. As dumb as that sounds, it is true. To get an awesome exclusive mouse pad like this truly is exciting for me. I also like changing things up at work, so having a new pad to show off is excellent. This DOTA 2 pad shows off all the heroes in the game “in their most adorable form.” This really is true. Not only does this serve and excellent purpose, but it’s great to look at too. Even those not familiar with DOTA 2 – insert finger pointing at myself – will find something to like about this. Great job selecting this item Loot Gaming, I approve!

Team Fortress 2 Snap Back Hat

This is my least favorite item in this months box, but only because I just don’t wear hats. This is one of those items where one of my friends will get an otherwise cool item. If you are a hat person, this is probably a fantastic item. The quality on the hat seems OK, but I think more people will use this as a display item than will actually wear it. Perhaps I’m wrong, but if I had no friends to give this too, that is what I would be doing with it. And frankly, I’d be ok with that!

As a side note, there is an excellent story about hats in Team Fortress 2 in this months booklet. If you can find it, go read it and be fascinated!

This is one of those items where the value isn’t actually in the print itself, but the video that Loot Gaming touts in this months magazine. This poster is for a Team Fortress 2 fan made movie called End of the Line. While the print is cool to look at, it’s a bit too obscure for me to frame and put on my wall. However, I highly recommend you check out the fan film that inspired this interesting art! We have included a link to the video below for your enjoyment. “Can Red stop the train in time? Or is this the ‘End of the Line.'”

Street Fighter V tShirt

IMG_7880

I usually get really excited by the tShirt’s that Loot Crate / Loot Gaming put in their boxes, but I’m not a fan of this months shirt. This is soley because I’m not a big Street Fighter fan. However, I really like the way the logo on the shirt has been done. While some people have complained that you cannot see enough of the characters, I argue that this draws attention to specific characters even more. And, this shirt will look great and could even pass as a ‘normal’ shirt if you venture into the sunlight and out of your basement.

I only kid. I know you go outside, sometimes.

Conclusion

This month’s crate – again – was really great. I’m not a huge MOBA fan, and I’ve only played one of the franchises included in this box. However, the group of Loot Gaming has put in items that have universal appeal, regardless of the franchise that inspires them. Loot Crate / Loot Gaming is at the top when it comes to subscription boxes, and it is obvious why. They know how to pick items that the majority of people are going to enjoy.

Once again, you can go here to get your own Loot Crate or Loot Gaming and use coupon code GAMESREVIEWS at checkout to save a few dollars. Next months theme is stranded, and comes with items from Assassins Creed: Black Flag, Far Cry Primal, Dead Island, and Rise of the Tomb Raider. It’s shaping up to be a great box!
