New Splatoon Content Worth It

If you’ve moved on from Splatoon it is time to go back. The August update added tons of new content to the game, but most importantly, the level cap was raised from 20 to 50. Overall, for free DLC, there really is not anything to dislike in this latest update.

The new weapons are extraordinary, and add yet another option for players to choose. This comes at just the right time. I personally was getting worn out on Splatoon, despite the odd level inclusion that Nintendo offered. With this update, I’m 100% back in, trying out all the new weapons and choosing which one I find the best.

The ability to create private games is wonderful, if not only because I found myself on the losing end of too many fights because I was playing with lousy players I did not know. Now, I get to be on the losing end of too many fights, but with people I do no. I can yell at those people, call them out on twitter, or whatever. And I don’t have to feel bad about it.

New levels are new levels, and here is why I think Nintendo could not charge for this kind of content update. With the original launch, for the price, Splatoon was definitely short on levels. As to their promise, Nintendo has continued to support this title with free updates.

As a free update, it really is hard to gripe about it. I score this a perfect 10/10! With more updates like this – and yes, Nintendo promised that despite the size of this one, they are not done yet – I could see Games Reviews changing it’s current review score by 0.5 -1. Splatoon has been an outstanding release for Nintendo, and proves again that Nintendo is not just content with making big bucks of their Italian plummer. They can try new things too, and be successful.
