Nintendo of Canada Calls November 21st Nintendo Day!

Nintendo Day 2014 is appropriately named. For Nintendo of Canada fans, November 21st isn’t just a chance to play some of the latest Nintendo games and the yet to be released Amiibo figures at multiple events across the country, but it is also the same day that Amiibo, Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, and Super Smash Bros Wii U hits retail and the Nintendo eShop.

While I cannot speak for other countries, Nintendo of Canada has upped their efforts in 2014 to provide Nintendo fans the ultimate experience and hands on time with some of Nintendo’s biggest titles. These events have been hitting retailers across the country, in multiple locations. Nintendo Day will be no different.

Nintendo of Canada’s (new) general manager and senior director had this to say about the event: “Nintendo Day marks one of the single biggest days in our company’s long history. Not only are we launching some of our biggest titles in portable and console gaming, we are also releasing Amiibo which are poised to redefine the gaming experience for Nintendo enthusiasts. “Nintendo Day, and all the activities leading up to it, is our approach to show appreciation of our fans and a way to celebrate these milestones with them.”

Also launching on the 21st is the GameCube controller adapter for Wii U which will allow Smash Bros players to use old (or new, yet to be released) GameCube controllers or Wave Bird controllers.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Open Training Sessions

Learn to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in retail locations across Canada. From November 15 – 19 visit a participating Best Buy, Future Shop, or Toys R Us location to meet up with the Nintendo training team and learn to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. During the sessions we’ll be holding an open training session for those new to the game and battle rounds for those who are more experienced. We’ll also have amiibo on hand to give everyone a chance to witness their favourite characters come to life in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Saturday, November 15 – 12-3PM

Sunday, November 16 – 12-3PM

Monday, November 17 – 4-7 PM

Tuesday November 18 – 4-7PM

Wednesday, November 19 – 4-7PM

The day everyone has been waiting for! Come and help us celebrate the launch of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and amiibo! We’ll be holding sampling sessions across Canada at Best Buy, Future Shop, and Toys R Us, on Friday, November 21, from 1-7PM. The Nintendo team will be on hand to give everyone a chance to try the games plus we’ll have TONS of giveaways* over the course of the day.
