Standalone DLC for Infamous: Second Son Announced

More developers need to do what Sucker Punch Productions is doing: selling stand alone DLC that will go along with their latest Infamous title, Second Son. During the Sony E3 press conference, Sucker Punch showed off a trailer for Infamous: First Light. It appears as if the protagonist in Infamous: First Light will be Second Son, Neon controlling female, Conduit Fetch. Although this DLC is stand alone, extra content will be available to those who own Second Son.

Stand alone DLC is amazing, especially if it is separate enough from the main game so that parts of the story are not missed if you play one and not the other. While stand alone DLC does not always extend the life of the game, it does provide a unique secondary experience with similar game play mechanics. More games should do this, using the stand alone content as a purchasable ‘demo’ for what is to come. This was a great announcement from Sucker Punch; if the trailer is any indication, Infamous fans should be excited.
