Watch Dogs Release Date Revealed

Watch Dogs was delayed at the end of last year, rather unceremoniously confusing the next-gen launch for countless people that had pre-ordered bundles. The game that many thought would define next-gen was knocked back without a specific release date to expect it, and since then we’ve been waiting for more news. It unfortunately came in the guise of rumours, with some claiming the hacker-based action-adventure was cancelled altogether (and may still be on Wii U). Today, Ubisoft have revealed an official release date.

Or technically, Xbox has, although it’ll definitely be officially confirmed by the end of the day. Earlier, a local GAME Twitter account spoke a little bit too early on the release date, and caused many to question if something was happening with the game today. The Tweet has since been deleted.

Since then, a .wmv has been found on the official Xbox website. The video file is a story trailer for Watch Dogs, and ends on the confirmation of the release date. If you’ve been long waiting to shut off the lights over an entire block of apartments, or to hack a bank account and take some funds, you’ll have to wait till May 27th. You can pre-order – if you haven’t already – to receive the game as it’s released.
